The LDF’s candidate for Thiruvananthapuram is optimistic about coming back to power after around 20 years away

Pannian Raveendran, the LDF candidate for the Thiruvananthapuram Lok Sabha seat, started his campaign tour on Tuesday with unflinching commitment as the Lok Sabha elections draw near. After grabbing a steaming cup of lemon tea from a local tea vendor, he climbed inside the car around 3:30 pm to start the second leg of his ardent campaign tour for the day.

Notwithstanding the intense competition posed by BJP candidate Rajeev Chandrasekhar and UDF candidate Shashi Tharoor, Pannyan is unwavering in his will and self-assurance and is certain that he would prevail.

His campaign tour started in Kamaleswaram, a major suburb, among the busy streets of the state capital. With much hoopla, his campaign van made its way through the clogged route while wading through thick traffic. Encircled by fervent party members and volunteers, he received kind welcomes at each location as the campaign truck moved on.

Toddlers and the elderly, of all ages, awaited his arrival with shawls, garlands, and ribbons. The advertising had a joyful vibe thanks to paper showers and firecrackers.

“The LDF has a stronghold in this election, but the media is pursuing well-known candidates. I’m hearing from folks that I should disregard the results of the exit polls. Despite the controversy, we conducted a research and in 2021 we won in all six assembly seats here.

We are going to have a larger margin in this election. Although Kovalam is a Congress stronghold, things have changed this time, and Shashi Tharoor will not get the same number of votes there as he did in 2019. The situation has evolved. In addition to political votes, I have received backing from several cultural organizations,” a self-assured Pannyan adds.

The audience became aware of Pannyan Raveendran’s presence when they heard loud drumming and a loud announcement from the cars following the campaign van. At each stop, he gave brief addresses to the crowd, explaining how the nation’s democracy is in jeopardy and how the BJP administration has sold and is continuing to sell national assets.

“It is absurd that both Union Minister Rajeev Chandrasekhar and three-term Member of Parliament Shashi Tharoor keep making extravagant statements in an attempt to get support. Shashi Tharoor’s political luster has faded, and he hasn’t done much to benefit this constituency. When I was elected in 2005, I worked really hard and brought about a great deal of improvement in Thiruvananthapuram.

These include the railway terminal at Kochuveli, the second terminal at Thiruvananthapuram Airport, and the super-speciality facility at Thiruvananthapuram Medical College, which is valued at Rs 200 crore. He said, “My opponents have absolutely nothing to show off as their accomplishment.
