The Prime Minister Reminds Citizens To “Kathin Tapasya, Tyag” Ahead Of Surya Tilak Of Ram Lalla

On the occasion of Ram Navami, Prime Minister Narendra Modi congratulated the people in a post on X today, before of the much-anticipated “Surya Abhishek” or “Surya Tilak” of Ram Lalla at Ayodhya. According to him, the opportunity to celebrate Ram Navami at Ayodhya was made possible by the nation’s citizens’ five centuries of arduous penance and sacrifice.

Ram Lalla’s “Surya Tilak” or “Surya Abhishek” is scheduled for today at around 12:15 p.m. During this anticipated four-minute celestial occurrence, Ram Lalla’s forehead will be covered in a 75 mm tilak formed by the sun’s beams.

The Central Building Research Institute (CBRI), Roorkee, and the Sri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust have worked together to determine the times based on the movement of the Sun. “The ‘Surya Abhishek’ of Ram Lalla will be performed using an optomechanical system with high-quality mirrors and lenses,” said the Trust.

The Trust went on to say, “Sun rays will initially fall on a mirror installed on the temple’s top floor, then with the help of three lenses, they will be directed to another mirror on the temple’s second floor before reaching the sanctum-sanctorum of the temple and fall on Ram Lalla’s forehead.”

Securing the success of the ‘Surya Abhishek’, specialists from CBRI, Roorkee, notably Prof. Pradeep Kumar Ramancharla and Prof. Devdutt Ghosh, are now stationed in Ayodhya and are spearheading the project.

On October 23, 2022, Prime Minister Narendra Modi visited Ayodhya for the Deepotsav festival, which served as the inspiration for this unusual practice. Similar to the Konark Sun Temple in Odisha, PM Modi proposed that the sanctum-sanctorum of the Ram Mandir be built such that during Ram Navami, direct sunlight will fall on the Ram Lalla idol.

Ramnagri is decked up in colorful lights, ready to receive worshippers for the first Ram Navami after the Ram Mandir’s great inauguration. For the convenience of devotees, a crimson carpet has been put on the Janmabhoomi Path, and extra carpets have been placed within the temple precincts for their comfort.
