“Multi-State Cooperative Societies law will be passed in the upcoming Parliament session,” asserts Amit Shah

The Multi-State Cooperative Societies Act has been amended by the Parliamentary Committee with a consensus, according to Union Home and Cooperation Minister Amit Shah, and this bill would be introduced in the forthcoming Parliament session.

“Under Modiji’s direction, we have undertaken a number of cooperative-related activities. The Multi-State Cooperative Societies Act amendment work was completed by the Parliamentary Committee with broad support, and this measure would be introduced this session, according to Shah. In the nation’s capital, at the International Exhibition-cum-Convention Centre (IECC), the Union minister was speaking to the 17th Indian Cooperative Congress.

The monsoon session of Parliament will start on July 20, according to a statement made today by Minister of Parliamentary Affairs Pralhad Joshi.

The two-day event, with the subject Amrit Kaal: Prosperity via Cooperation for a Vibrant India, is being led by Amit Shah, and was officially opened by Shah and Prime Minister Narendra Modi today.

The Ministry of Cooperation was only established, according to Shah, even though there had been calls for it ever since India’s independence.

“In our nation, the cooperative movement has existed for nearly 115 years. Since independence, the Ministry of Cooperation’s separation has been the principal demand of the sector’s employees. PM Modi established a separate Ministry of Cooperation when he was re-elected as Prime Minister in 2019,” Shah remarked.

The Union Minister said that the Narendra Modi administration strived to harmonise the Cooperative Law while maintaining the constitutional rights of the State and the Centre.

“The economics of loan distribution is accounted for by the cooperative movement to the tune of roughly 29%. In addition, the cooperative stake in milk production, sales, and distribution is approaching 15%, according to the Minister for Cooperation. It accounts for 35% of fertiliser distribution, 25% of fertiliser production, and more than 35% of sugar production.

On July 1 and 2, the 17th Indian Cooperative Congress will take place.
Its goal is to explore different cooperative movement trends, highlight best practises being used, ponder on difficulties being encountered, and map out future policy directions for expansion of India’s cooperative movement.

The core subject of “Amrit Kaal: Prosperity through Cooperation for a Vibrant India” will be the focus of seven technical sessions.

More than 3,600 stakeholders, including cooperatives from the primary level to the national level, delegates from international cooperative organisations, representatives from the international cooperative alliance, representatives from ministries, universities, and prestigious institutions, among others, will participate, according to a statement.
