The wife of Capt. Amarinder Singh, Preneet Kaur, a suspended Congress MP, has joined the BJP

The wife of Congress MP Captain Amarinder Singh, Preneet Kaur, of Patiala, joined the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Thursday in Delhi.

She said, “I will work for my constituency, my state, and the country under the leadership of PM Modi,” after joining the saffron party. I think my time with the BJP would be better than it was with the Congress party, where I had a good run.

“That depends on the BJP (whether she will contest the 2024 Lok Sabha elections or not),” Kaur said when asked whether she will run in the Lok Sabha elections.

At the BJP headquarters, Kaur, a four-time MP and former Union minister, joined the saffron party in front of top officials. In February of last year, shortly after her husband, Amarinder Singh, the former chief minister of Punjab, joined the BJP, she was suspended by the Congress.

Jai Inder Kaur, the couple’s daughter, is a Punjab-born BJP politician as well.
