Three found guilty of robbing a guy at knifepoint in a local

Mumbai: A sessions Court found three people guilty, one of them a woman, of beating and robbing a man on a local train at Majisd railway station in 2021 of his gold chain and cash at knifepoint. The court described the conduct as horrific. Judge VM Sundale sentenced Aasif Shaikh (age 24) and Abdul Sayyed (age 28) to seven years of hard jail for seriously hurting him during an attack; however, Sherbanu Khan (age 26), who was solely involved in the robbery, received a sentence of three years.

Ratnavali Patil, the public prosecutor, utilized the testimony of eight witnesses—among them the victim—to move for the accused’s conviction. The victim said that he boarded a local train from Curry Road at 10 a.m. on May 12, 2021, in order to go to CSMT. While the compartment was originally crowded, he said that it got vacant at Masjid, the second-to-final station. The victim stated he was the only one left, along with the four accused. He went on to say that he was beaten up by all four of the defendants. They beat him on the stomach, chest, and face. Among them, one accused person flashed a knife, while another stole his Rs. 67,000 gold chain. He said that Rs 5,600 was stolen from his pocket by the third accused. He managed to get hold of one. Then the lady urged the other two to get away. The victim said that he reported the thief to the railway police when the train arrived at CSMT. — Rebecca Samervel
