Three People Arrested After Security Forces Bust Terrorist Group’s Plan to Cease Lok Sabha Elections in J&K

Ahead of the crucial Lok Sabha elections, the police on Tuesday captured three terrorists in the Rajouri district as part of a major crackdown on the development of terror modules in Jammu and Kashmir. JK DGP R R Swain said that the miscreants intended to obstruct the voting process in Rajouri and Poonch.

The wife of terrorist Talib Shah, who is incarcerated, is one of the people who have been arrested. Mohammad Kasim, also known as Salman, the commander of Lashkar-e-Taiba, was using the module. The name Kasim, a native of Reasi, is wanted for Rs 10 lakh.

Speaking to reporters on Wednesday, Swain said that the security services had identified more than seven people engaged in illicit operations, such as the drone-facilitated cross-border trade in narcotics and firearms. They actively contributed to the spread of fear across the Kashmir valley.

The security forces launched raids in many locations of Rajouri district on Sunday in an attempt to apprehend them. A thorough search operation was started at ten sites on Tuesday. Cell phones, SIM cards, and certain financial transaction documentation were seized by the security personnel.

Three of the module’s seven members were apprehended, according to Jagran.com.

The Director General of Police said that it has been discovered by questioning these individuals and the proof found in their hiding places that money worth lakhs of dollars has arrived from across the border and has been dispersed among other people in little quantities. The authorities are attempting to locate the trail.

The miscreants claimed to be employed by Mohammad Kasim, who the Home Ministry had designated as a terrorist under the UAPA. After making his way to Pakistan in 2009, he has been attempting to rebuild the terror network in Rajouri, Poonch, and Reasi. He often travels to the PoK terror camps run by Lashkar-e-Taiba.

According to DGP Swain, he has been enticing individuals to assist him in advocating terrorist operations by contacting them online.
