Thrissur Pooram fireworks were postponed for hours because to organizational protests

The well-known Thrissur Pooram (festival) fireworks show was postponed for many hours as a result of protests and the suspension of several rituals by a member of the temple administration, Thiruvambady Devaswom, who blamed the police department’s lack of cooperation.

After many rounds of deliberations, the famous fireworks eventually began around 7:00 am.

On Saturday, at around 1:30 a.m., Thiruvambady devaswom abruptly put an end to Madathil Varavu’s Panchavadyam and turned off the lights in Panthal at Naikkanal.

“We have been concerned by the police department’s stance, which got to the point where it was hard to organize Pooram. Sundar Menon, the president of Thiruvambady Devaswom, said, “Even though we had voiced our concerns several times at meetings, it appears no one cared, thus we had to take such a choice.

For the first time in Thrissur Pooram’s history, the customary festivities have been discontinued by the devaswom.

Pooram organizers and festival attendees have been harshly critical of police limitations. According to reports, authorities only let 175 people to see the fireworks show in the Swaraj Round, which made it impossible for the thousands of women who had volunteered to arrange poorams to witness the show.

Revenue Minister K. Rajan and District Collector V. R. Krishna Teja intervened and spoke with the devaswom officials as the demonstrations persisted.
