Plans to create Mullai Garden, Marutham Park, and Sun Garden—each costing Rs 2 crore—to highlight different plant species and regional circumstances that existed in the state have been disclosed by Minister of Agriculture MRK Panneerselvam.

According to the financial announcements, forest and surrounding land are included in the Sangam Era’s five types of land, or Mullai. The Mullai park will be built in Velimalai in the Kanniyakumari district to highlight the way of life and geographical surroundings of the Tamil people residing in Mullai area.

Marutham is the name for wetlands and nearby farmland in the Thanjavur district of the Cauvery river basin that have access to water. In an effort to draw more visitors to Kanniyakumari, a Sun Garden between Sunrise Point and Sunset Point is also suggested in the budget.

In addition, Panneerselvam told the House that a nursery worth Rs 1 crore would be built in the Chengalpattu district’s Attur, taking into account the importance of hibiscus.

The agricultural budget year 2024–25 was submitted to the Assembly by MRK Panneerselvam, the Minister of agricultural and Farmers Welfare for Tamil Nadu.
