Today, 19 Aam Aadmi Clinics will be available to the public

Ultimately, on Sunday, 19 more Aam Aadmi Clinics (AACs) will open to the public. These were originally scheduled to be inaugurated on January 26 but were rescheduled. Nine of the clinics are situated in rural locations, while 10 are located in metropolitan areas.

Following the opening of the clinics, the district will have 94 total clinics.

The Subhani Building, Islam Ganj, Mullanpur, Samrala, Macchiwara, Khanna, Doraha, Maloud, Kaniya Hussaini, Sherpur Kalan, Hissowal, Baddowal, Sangowal, Nurpur, Ikolaha, Bilaspur, Sanhewal, Tajpur Road, and Dhanansu are the locations where Aam Aadmi Clinics (AACs) are being established.

Ten of these 19 clinics are housed in retrofit buildings, while nine of them are mobile. Portable and transportable constructions are known as porta cabins. During the first stages, the AACs were set up in PHC facilities, sewa kendras, and rural dispensaries. However, this caused a great deal of controversy, to the point that the Center discontinued funding the National Health Mission (NHM). The government now uses porta cabins to house the clinics since there isn’t enough land or room for permanent facilities.

The clinics’ infrastructure and construction projects are almost complete. Additionally, a final selection of physicians, pharmacists, and clinic assistants has been made. 84 necessary medications and more than 40 diagnostic tests will be provided to the public at no cost by the clinics.

The clinics are prepared, the personnel has been finalized, and Sunday is the official opening. Civil surgeon Jasbir Singh Aulakh said, “The clinics will go a long way in providing better healthcare facilities to the people.”

A clinic patient said that having a doctor close to their home and not having to spend time traveling to the Civil Hospital or other health facilities were two advantages of these clinics.
