Two in the murder case at Panchkula Park

With the arrest of two people, the local police claimed to have solved the murder case of a retired government employee who lived in Sector 15.

On April 18, the corpse of Devendra, 55, was found in a park in Sector 5.

During a news conference held here today, police authorities said that the guy was killed by the two suspects, who were named as Sonu, a resident of Singhpura village in Zirakpur, and Manoj Kumar, a resident of Majri village in Sector 2 here, over a money dispute.

ACP (Crime) Arvind Kamboj provided details regarding the case, stating that the corpse was found in Sector 5’s Silver Jubilee Park.

On the basis of the victim’s father’s statement, a complaint was filed.

Sector 11 homeowner Daryav Singh said that the next day he and his kid were meant to go to a wedding in Jind. He said that when he attempted to reach him, his phone was off. His corpse was later found in the Sector 5 park, suffering from serious head injuries.

The victim’s cell phone was used by the police to get call records, according to Sub-inspector Ankit Dhanda of the Crime Branch in Sector 19. “We also gathered the incident’s CCTV video from many locations. The pair provided us with crucial hints about the homicide,” he said.

He said that Devendra and Manoj Kumar, the primary suspect, had a financial disagreement. As a result, they had crossed paths at the park where the injured corpse was discovered.

Following their presentation before the court, the two accused were placed under seven days of police detention. According to police authorities, they are attempting to determine how much debate preceded the murder.
