Two people are detained after illegal alcohol that was being transported to Uttar Pradesh was found in Yamunanagar

In the vicinity of the Nagli ghat, or mining quarry, in the Jathlana region of Yamunanagar, the police have seized 101 boxes of domestic booze and 14 boxes of international liquor manufactured in India.

The booze was placed onto a utility vehicle without the necessary paperwork, such as excise department permits.

In relation to this crime, the police have detained two people: Jasbir from Jagadhri and Brijpal from Tabbar village in the Saharanpur district of Uttar Pradesh.

Information indicates that on Thursday night, a Jathlana police station crew was inspecting cars at the ghat. When a utility truck approached from the Jathlana side around 12:10 in the morning, team members motioned for the driver to stop. The driver, Jasbir, abandoned the car on the spot and attempted to get away, but he and his accomplice, Brijpal, were apprehended by the police.

According to Rajat Sharma, SHO of the Jathlana police station, the driver of the car did not provide the necessary paperwork, such as license plates and invoices.

On April 18, a case was filed at the Jathlana police station under Section 61-1 (A)-4-20 of the Excise Act in response to a complaint made by Head Constable Santosh.

According to the SHO, the two were taken into judicial custody after being presented in court on Thursday.

He stated that one additional guy, Shravan of Tabbar village, had not yet been taken into custody in relation to the investigation.

Since Nagli Ghat is located on the border between Uttar Pradesh and Haryana, which connects the districts of Yamunanagar and Saharanpur, this shipment of illicit alcohol was intended to be sold in Uttar Pradesh.

According to sources, alcohol was less expensive in Haryana, and individuals supplied alcohol illegally in Saharanpur district by using Nagli Ghat and other Yamunanagar district regions.
