US Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin said that the US and India would jointly build armored vehicles

As part of their defense industrial cooperation, the US and India will jointly develop an infantry combat vehicle, US Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin said on Friday.

Speaking to a small group of media after the “2+2” defense and foreign ministry talks in Delhi, he made this statement.

The US delegation included Secretary of State Antony Blinken in addition to Austin. Defence Minister Rajnath Singh and External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar led the Indian delegation.

“It is very important that we are collaborating to co-produce an armored vehicle,” Austin said.

In response to a query, he said that a variety of topics were discussed, including China’s growing security threats.

He said, however, that common principles between the US and India underpin the two nations’ relationship, not merely the problems that China poses.

When asked about the deal, Austin said that it would be revealed at the appropriate moment. The project involves India purchasing 31 MQ-9B drones from the US.

According to him, government officials are making every effort to ensure that India acquires such capacity as soon as feasible.

According to Austin, we are increasing US-Indian defense cooperation in a number of areas, including space and the ocean.

He remarked that we discussed important events in the Middle East, Ukraine, and the Indo-Pacific area.

According to the defense secretary, US-Indian collaboration is at an all-time high.
