Vizagites assemble in big numbers to welcome CM Jagan

Many flocked to the City of Destiny’s main intersections in hopes of seeing Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy, who on Sunday started his “Memanta Siddham” bus yatra from the Chinnayapalem stay point in the Anakapalle district.

He arrived at Pinagadi Junction in Pendurthi Mandal as his first stop on day 20. Locals joyfully gathered around the roadways to support the YSRC president despite the intense heat. Following his conversations with the people of Pinagadi village, Jagan left for Visakhapatam. Lakshmipuram, Vepagunta Junction, Gopalapatnam, and NAD Junction were all traversed by the cavalcade. The roadshow traveled via Kancherapalem Mettu, Akkayapalem, Maddilapalem, Venkojipalem, and Hanumantha Vaka inside the city boundaries before coming to an end at Endada.

The Chief Minister arrived at Kancherapalem Mettu at around 6:30 p.m. after eating lunch before traveling via Gopalapatnam. The roadshow only traveled 9.6 kilometers in three hours due to the large number of attendees.

During his trip to Rampuram village, the Chief Minister had an encounter with G Tarun Kumar and G Jeevan Kumar, twins with special needs. Jeevan informed Jagan that he passed the intermediate examinations with 815 points. The brothers asked Jagan for assistance after expressing a desire to continue their education. The Chief Minister, impressed by their tenacity, promised them full assistance for their academic endeavors.

“I was overjoyed to finally meet Jagan in person. His humanitarian programs have directly helped me. Shantamma said, “I wanted to thank him for what he has done for us by taking part in the demonstration.

Many opposition politicians from the TDP and Jana Sena joined the YSRC when the yatra passed through Uttarandhra.

Giridhar Gampala, a senior JSP leader who ran in the 2019 elections from the Visakhapatnam South seat, joined the YSRC alongside G Sreeja and G Dhanush, two other party members. Former TDP district president and UDA director D Bharti, executive trustee of the Shankar Foundation Krishna Kumar, and leaders of the TDP Youth Wing Charan, Sandeep, Kiranmayi, and Dasu all joined the YSRC.

Reports of traffic jams

Severe traffic jams were reported on a number of city intersections and internal roadways. The commuter route running from the Akkayapalem highway to the 80-foot road was blocked starting at 3:30 pm, while the Chief Minister’s cavalcade reached the Akkayapalem junction highway around 7:30 pm.

As a result, internal highways linking key intersections saw traffic bottlenecks, while other routes saw slow-moving traffic.

“The roadshow has to be carefully organized to prevent causing traffic disruptions. Due to the Chief Minister’s tardy arrival in the city, commuters from all walks of life experienced severe traffic jams at major intersections such as Satyam and Akkayapalem during evening rush hour. One driver caught in the bottleneck said, “Either busy routes should be avoided or used during non-peak hours.”
