Why did Congress postpone making a judgment on TG-specific promises?

There are concerns over the Congress’s electoral strategy and the political forces at play after the party decided to postpone making Telangana-specific pledges at the recent Jana Jatara Sabha, when Rahul Gandhi unveiled the party’s Lok Sabha election manifesto. At the last minute, the party withheld the Telangana-specific pronouncements.

According to party sources, the Congress has really prepared a number of pledges that are unique to Telangana. The party is hesitant to make these announcements at the large public gathering, however, since they don’t want to create a precedent of issuing pre-poll pledges from the same location where the six Assembly election assurances were announced—Tukkuguda.

According to insiders, the party decided against releasing the Telangana-specific pledges in front of Rahul Gandhi since it would spark requests of a similar kind from other states in the nation.

According to a source with knowledge of the situation, “Members of the state leadership, including Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy and AICC Telangana in-charge Deepa Dasmunshi, are likely to release Congress’ Lok Sabha elections promises for the state.”

According to sources, they first took into consideration promises like establishing a dry port and industrial corridor in Hyderabad, a sports university and IIM, a court bench and a Niti Aayog regional office in Hyderabad, more Navodaya, Kendriya Vidyalayas, and Sainik schools, the ITIR project being revived, fast trains linking Hyderabad and Vijayawada, giving Sammakka-Sarakka Jatara national status, and bifurcation promises.

Since the information was leaked from party sources, these promises were circulating in the media and on social media, implying that Rahul Gandhi will make an announcement.
