Kerala Lok Sabha Elections 2024: When Will Polls Be Held?
As previously reported, the Kerala Congress president has pleaded with the Indian Election Commission to alter the Kerala Assembly Elections 2024 election date. Acting President of the Kerala Pradesh Congress Committee (KPCC), MM Hassan, requested the Election Commission of India (ECI) on Tuesday to reschedule the polls in the southern state. The current date of March 26 falls on a Friday.

MM Hassan Provides This Justification for Modifying Kerala’s Polling Date
“We have encouraged the Election Commission to modify the date in light of the difficulty that the Friday election day presents to a particular segment of the public. In Kerala, a number of community segments will find Friday and Sunday inconvenient. Thus, we implore you to reschedule this 26th day,” MM.. Hassan said. “I’ve emailed the head of the UDF and the Central Election Commission. For the same reason, the opposition leader has also written to the election commissioner,” he said.

Meanwhile, Thiruvananthapuram in Kerala is one of the most well-known seats in the the 2019 Lok Sabha election as the session draws closer. Former MP Pannyan Raveendran, a staunch leftist, and Union Minister Rajeev Chandrasekhar of the BJP face off against Congressman Shashi Tharoor, a three-time member of parliament from the district.
