Will win every seat, even if the BJP is aware of its loss in Delhi: Gopal Rai

Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal’s arrest in the “dubious” Delhi liquor policy scam case has not gone down well with the Delhi public, who are waiting for the general elections to express their displeasure with the BJP and its government in the Central government, according to AAP Delhi unit convener Gopal Rai in an interview with Anup Verma. Rai claimed that people believe the CM’s arrest on the eve of the Lok Sabha polls is the result of political malice. According to the minister, there is a surge of support for the INDIA bloc candidates running for each of the seven municipal seats. Take-outs:

 

Four seats in the capital are up for grabs for the AAP. What are the main polling techniques, and how does the party assess its ground position?

All seven of the seats are being contested by the India group. For four of these seats, the AAP has put forward candidates in accordance with the seat-sharing arrangement. This time, there is no split in anti-BJP votes, and both parties have around 40% of the votes that they need to win among their members. AAP is planning how to influence the remaining twenty percent of undecided voters. Our plan is to persuade them to back the candidates from India. Notably, after CM Kejriwal’s detention, there has been a lot of support for opposition candidates. Many firmly feel that the chief minister was detained for political vengeance, and that too only a few days before the elections. We are certain that we will win all seven of the city’s seats after evaluating the current state of affairs. Based on historical patterns, one party has won every seat since 2004. This time, the INDIA bloc is expected to defeat the saffron party.

What is your party’s evaluation of the BJP candidates’ competition?

The BJP is aware of its electoral losses in Delhi. They have so replaced six of the seven MPs. Not a single one of these BJP lawmakers has been visible in the previous ten years, and their contributions to the welfare of the people have been minimal. They have so far added six more participants to the fight. It wouldn’t really help, however, since there is strong anti-incumbency sentiment against them.

The party released a list of 40 celebrity supporters for Gujarat that included the names of prominent figures who are incarcerated at the moment. Are they available to run a campaign? When will the Delhi campaigners’ identities be made public by the AAP?

People are aware that our senior officials were wrongfully detained in order to prevent them from participating in party campaigns. However, given that Sanjay Singh was granted bail, we have optimism that additional people will be granted bail and be able to participate in the election campaign. Since elections are anticipated in Gujarat in the early stages, we made the list public there. The party will announce the list in accordance with the sixth round of elections in Delhi. Similar to the Gujarat list, the list of Delhi activists will also include the names of local leaders.

What principles will guide the party’s formulation of its manifesto and when will it be released?

We have previously brought up the subject of the BJP-led Center’s authoritarian mindset and disdain for democratic values. Along with updating the public on the work being done by our administrations in Punjab and Delhi, we also pledge to bring this welfare model to the whole country. We have made all of our pledges and concerns available to the public, but in the next few days, a manifesto will be made available.

What is the combined campaign plan of the Congress and AAP?

On the ground, our campaign has already begun. Following the announcement of its nominees, the Congress has also launched campaigns to support them. In terms of collaborative campaigns, you will see them shortly. We want to take all seven seats in the capital, and we will stop at nothing to achieve this goal. Our allies are committed to the same purpose.

The AAP unveiled a website based on its Ram Rajya concept. Is the goal of this action to further soft Hindutva?

All faiths have always been honored by our administration and party. Arvind Kejriwal is a proponent of justice and wellbeing for all members of society. The website outlines this vision of the Ram Rajya, which is led by Arvind Kejriwal and the AAP and was inaugurated by Lord Ram. It is a society in which there is no inequity and everyone’s comfort and welfare are prioritized. Kejriwal has made tremendous progress in Punjab and Delhi. Our welfare objective for every citizen is reflected in the more than 1,000 movies we have put to the Internet. We extend an invitation to the BJP to post comparable MP videos. They need to be able to provide documentation if they have experience working in their specific constituencies.

The AAP has not filed candidates in the broader NCR, Noida, Ghaziabad, Gurugram, and so on, despite enjoying substantial support there. For what reason is it the case?

Candidates from Delhi, Punjab, Gujarat, Goa, and even Assam have been submitted by us. Allies of the INDIA alliance have filed candidates for the NCR seats. We are rooting for them to win these seats because we are united in our battle to preserve the Constitution and overthrow the tyranny.
