A fan is arrested after he goes past security to touch and embrace Virat Kohli’s feet

During a Twenty20 International match against Afghanistan on Sunday, a fan at the Holkar Cricket Stadium in Indore broke security to embrace Indian player Virat Kohli and touch his feet. As a result, police apprehended the fan. As the sides get ready for the T20 World Cup in 2024, India and Afghanistan squared off against one another in the second Twenty20 International of their current series.

Virat Kohli, the former captain of India, was spotted standing at a boundary when a fan at the Stadium was caught trespassing and rushing to embrace him. He shook hands with Kohli, gave him a hug, and then the security guards dragged him away. The match was somewhat interrupted as a result of this.

Nevertheless, according to news agency PTI, the fan was arrested for his performance and brought to the Tukoganj police station. A policeman added that the individual was being questioned and that, in light of the results, further actions will be taken. The officer claimed to have entered the stadium via the Narendra Hirwani Gate and to have a match ticket. He climbed the spectators’ gallery barrier and accessed the ground.

With the bat, Kohli made a respectable comeback to T20I cricket, scoring a rapid 29 runs off of only 16 balls. Before Ibrahim Zadran caught him at mid-off, Naveen-Ul-Haq had him hit five boundaries. India’s batsmen performed well when they were challenged to chase 173. Shivam Dube and Yashasvi Jaiswal were on point, despite Rohit Sharma’s duck. With six wickets remaining and a target of 15.4 overs, both of them hit massive fifties to aid the Men in Blue in their pursuit of the goal. Jaiswal was removed at 68, but Dube scored an undefeated sixty-three off of 32 balls.

Earlier, on a flat surface, Axar Patel conceded only 17 runs while taking two wickets in his four overs. Because of his performance with the ball, he was chosen the Player of the Match.
