Abrar Ahmed takes pictures of Babar Azam on the beach as the Pakistani players explore Galle

Babar Azam, the captain of Pakistan, and teammate Abrar Ahmed spent a day exploring Galle City after their team’s victory over Sri Lanka in the first Test. The first match of the two-match series was won by the visitors by 4 wickets, giving them a 1-0 series lead. The visiting captain went out with one of his players to relax on the beach and take some photographs before the final match versus the hosts.

Babar and Abrar could be seen playing street cricket with the neighborhood youths in the footage of their excursion that Pakistan Cricket released on Twitter. The Pakistani commander took pictures with passersby and tried his hand at kite flying in the meanwhile. Abrar was also seen photographing his commander, and the two of them took a selfie before departing.

“@babarazam258 and Abrar Ahmed go all touristy in Galle,” the video’s description stated.

Imam-ul-Haq earlier on Thursday scored an unbeaten 50 to help Pakistan eke out a victory in a tight chase of 131. The game’s MVP was Saud Shakeel, whose first Test double century propelled Pakistan to 461 runs and gave them a 149-run first-innings advantage.

Shakeel improved his performance and showed off new strokes in his match-winning unbeaten 208 against Sri Lanka, according to Babar Azam, who praised his colleague.

Saud has come a long way. After the New Zealand series, he put a lot of effort into his job. He went to two camps, one each in Karachi and Lahore. At the post-game presentation, Babar Azam remarked, “I chatted with him, and he informed me he had created a couple shots that he utilized in this innings.

“I am quite pleased with his performance as captain. We had lost four wickets when he came to play, and Saud and Salman established the partnership,” he said.
