After surviving a horrific leopard attack, a former international cricket player escapes death; graphic images surface

Guy Whittal, a former cricket player for Zimbabwe, had to have emergency surgery after being taken from Buffalo Range, Zimbabwe, where he had been attacked by a leopard. Whittal’s wife posted the pictures of him on social media on Monday. Whittal was hospitalized and in critical condition.

Hannah Stooks Whittall detailed her husband’s harrowing experience in the post, revealing that Guy had lost a significant amount of blood. She also included a few images, one of which showed Guy badly bandaged and sporting a stained shirt.

Hannah commented, “Guy and I are so grateful for all of the well wishes we have received since Guy came in with a wounded leopard earlier today. We consider ourselves very lucky that the amazing staff at Hippo Clinic was able to stabilize him.” After that, Ace Ambulance airlifted him from Buffalo Range to Harare, where he was treated at Milton Park Hospital.

According to The Daily Mail, Whitall, who owns a safari company in Zimbabwe, was ambushed while hiking through the reserve he manages in Humani.

Whittal has faced wild animals on previous occasions throughout his ten-year international career, having played for Zimbabwe in 46 Tests and 147 ODIs. When he awoke in 2013 to find a gigantic 8-foot-long crocodile lying beneath his bed, he was astonished.

The 150-kg crocodile crept inside the Humani lodge in Zimbabwe and slept soundly for the whole night, inches below Whittall’s ignorant head. Only the next morning, as Guy was having breakfast in the kitchen, did he hear a housemaid’s panicked cries.
