DC’s Fraser-McGurk teams up with hero Warner to brighten the IPL

Although Jake Fraser-McGurk did not sell at auction, the young Australian player became a sensation in the current IPL after being signed by the Delhi Capitals as an injured replacement.

Though he still has a lot to learn, the courageous 22-year-old batsman told AFP he is trying to absorb all he can from his hero and new colleague in the Indian capital, David Warner. One of Australia’s greatest batters ever, the 37-year-old opener, is someone Fraser-McGurk described as having “a nice connection, a beautiful friendship” with him here.

This week, Australia great and head coach of Delhi, Ricky Ponting, called Fraser-McGurk “a serious talent,” pointing to glimpses of the young Warner’s aggressive style. He replaced South African pacer Lungi Ngidi in Delhi due to an injury.
