Will Mayank Yadav play today against the Mumbai Indians in the LSG vs. MI IPL 2024?

Mumbai Indians and Lucknow Super Giants square off in a pivotal IPL 2024 encounter at the BRSABV Ekana Stadium today, Tuesday, April 30.

Mayank Yadav, the speed wonder for LSG, has been out with an injury. He played his last game of the 2024 Indian Premier League (IPL) season on April 7 against Gujarat Titans. He has been recuperating from an injury ever since.

With his incredible speed in this IPL 2024, Mayank has captured the attention of both professionals and fans. Although the young player often hits speeds of over 150 kph, his accuracy with his lightning fast pace has been his greatest bowling attribute. The speedster was also expected to play in the T20 World Cup for India, but he withdrew due to injury.

Mayank has participated in three IPL matches so far this season, taking six wickets—three against Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) and Punjab Kings (PBKS). His effort was essential to LSG’s wins, particularly in the match against PBKS, when he intervened to stop them from chasing 200 runs.

The match was shifted in favor of LSG with the wickets of Jonny Bairstow, Prabhsimran Singh, and Jitesh Sharma. In a similar vein, his performances against RCB, when he dismissed Glenn Maxwell, Cameron Green, and Rajat Patidar and influenced Faf du Plessis’s run-out, were crucial to their failure to chase a target of 182.

Lucknow has been without the speed sensation’s services since his injury in the encounter against GT. Even if Mohsin Khan and Yash Thakur have performed passably, Mayank’s precise accuracy and sheer speed have left a significant hole in the LSG ranks.

IPL 2024: LSG vs. MI: Will Mayank Yadav play today?
There is optimism for LSG going into the game as they anticipate having Mayank Yadav back in the starting lineup.

According to reports, their bowling coach Morne Morkel verified the child’s availability for today’s game against the Mumbai Indians.

“Mayank is capable. Every fitness test he took was passed. Very thrilled to have him back, perhaps playing in the starting XII tomorrow,” said LSG’s bowling coach Morkel.

After beginning to bowl in the nets last week, Mayank Yadav is now prepared to once again instill fear in the minds of hitters. The Super Giants, who are thrilled to have their elite speedster back, will feel a huge boost.
