During the DC vs. GT Clash, Rasikh Salam Dar received criticism for violating the IPL Code of Conduct

Rasikh Salam Dar of the Delhi Capitals (DC) was’reprimanded’ on Thursday for violating the Indian Premier League (IPL) Code of Conduct during the game at the Arun Jaitley Stadium against the Gujarat Titans (GT). Rasikh Salam bowled against GT on Wednesday with incredible efficiency. After taking three wickets in his four-over performance, he spearheaded the DC bowling assault. The 24-year-old pacer was also accused of violating Article 2.5 of the IPL Code of Conduct, which classifies Level 1 offenses.

“Rasikh Salam Dar, bowler, Delhi Capitals, has been reprimanded for breaching the IPL Code of Conduct during Match 40 of the TATA Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 against Gujarat Titans at the Arun Jaitley Stadium, Delhi, on April 24, 2024,” the IPL said in a statement.

“According to Article 2.5 of the IPL Code of Conduct, Dar committed a Level 1 offense. He took the match referee’s punishment after acknowledging his wrongdoing. The match referee’s ruling is definitive and enforceable for Level 1 violations of the Code of Conduct, it said.

In summary, Gujarat chose to bowl first after winning the toss between DC and GT. Following a quick start by Prithvi Shaw (11), and Jake Fraser McGurk (23), DC was limited to 44/3. Subsequently, Rishabh Pant and Axar Patel (66) attacked GT again. Pant and Tristan Stubbs (26*) combined to completely dismantle GT’s death bowling in the last overs. Pant struck five fours and eight sixes to end at 88* in 43 balls.

DC finished their 20 overs at 224/4. For GT, Sandeep Warrier (3/15) was the best bowler.

GT lost captain Shubman Gill early in the run-chase. With a combined score of 82 runs between Wriddhiman Saha (39), and Sai Sudarshan (65), a counterattack was once again planned. David Miller (55), Sai Kishore (13) and Rashid Khan (21*) placed pressure on the DC bowlers in the latter stages of the game, but the hosts retained their composure to win by four runs, limiting GT to 220/8 in their 20 overs.

Kuldeep Yadav (2/29), and Rasikh Salam (3/44) were two of DC’s best bowlers.

DC has four wins, five defeats, and eight points, placing them in sixth place in the points standings. However, GT has a lower net run rate and is ranked seventh with the same win-loss record and number of points.
