“Flower Nahi, Fire Hai Main”: Following his match-winning knock against the Royals, Venkatesh Iyer had social media buzzing

Following his game-winning hit on Friday in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 season against the Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB), batter Venkatesh Iyer of the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) received appreciation from supporters on social media.

In Bengaluru, KKR easily triumphed by a seven-wicket margin.

After batting first, the Faf Du Plessis-led RCB scored a respectable total of 182/6. In the match against the Shreyas Iyer-led KKR, Virat Kohli top-scored with an undefeated 83, while Andre Rusell and Harshit Rana both claimed two wickets for the visitors.

With 82 runs added by their opening duo of Phil Salt (30) and Sunil Narine (47), KKR roared ahead in the powerplay. Narine lost by only three runs from his well-earned half-century.

Next, at number three, Venkatesh Iyer carried on the momentum and produced a knock that won the match. He struck three fours and four sixes while looking flawless. In only thirty deliveries, he reached his half-century mark.

When KKR needed 16 runs to win the match, Venkatesh was out in the 16th over.

The team won the following over thanks to the efforts of captain Iyer and Rinku Singh, and they are now ranked second in the IPL 2024 points standings.

Venkatesh’s knock thrilled the KKR supporters.

“Congrats, Venkatesh Iyer. One reader commented, “A Top Knock by Venkatesh Iyer: He smashed 50 runs from 30 balls, including 3 fours and 4 sixes, against RCB in this run chase.”

Even though he was experiencing back discomfort, Venkatesh Iyer had an amazing inning, comfortably smashing the ball all over the field. Another comment said, “So happy for him, KKR needed him back in form.”

“KKR is taking a walk in the park. Following Salt and Narine’s quick start, Venkatesh Iyer did a fantastic job pursuing them. One social media user said, “If Alzarri plays one more game for them, they’re completely unserious.”

Here are a few more responses:

According to Venkatesh, as the game went on, the surface did grow better for batting.

As the game progressed, Venkatesh said, “To be honest, it got better. One end in particular, the Pavilion end, and credit to Narine, the pressure was off and we had to go and finish the formalities.”

“It was my responsibility to pursue the left-arm spinner’s bowling, as it was crucial to capitalize on the platform that had been set up.” “I would like to give credit to my fiancee, who is also present,” he said.

On April 3, KKR and Delhi Caps will play their second IPL 2024 match.
