The scan data has been forwarded to a Mumbai facility for assessment, and by today, the extent of the 35-year-old’s ailment would be known, according to a report in Cricbuzz.

India presently trails 0-1 in the five-match series after losing the first Test against England.

In response to a question about Jadeja’s fitness, India’s head coach Rahul Dravid said, “I honestly haven’t had a chance to speak with the physio as yet.” I’ll talk to him when I come back to find out what the situation is.

With a maximum score of 87 in the first innings, Jadeja gave India a 190-run advantage. He claimed five wickets throughout the game as well.

In an attempt to even the series, India may choose to use a left-arm spinner to fill the void in the eleventh position if Jadeja is unable to play in the second Test, which gets underway in Vizag on February 2.

Earlier this week, England chose to bat first at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium and were knocked out for 246 in their first innings. India responded with a 436-all out, marching forward.

But Ollie Pope struck a magnificent 196 in England’s second innings to set India a 231-run total, which the hosts failed to meet by 29 runs.
