Following the Asia Cup snub, Naveen ul Haq posted cryptically

Virat Kohli and Naveen-ul-Haq’s anticipated matchup in the upcoming Asia Cup disappointed the fans on Sunday. The right-arm quick was not selected for Afghanistan’s 17-man continental tournament team. He last represented his nation in the 50-over format more than two years ago. In his seven ODI appearances for Afghanistan, he has taken 14 wickets at an average of 25.42.

Haq has been participating in professional cricket games all throughout the globe. But when the roster for the continental competition was announced, the cricketer posted a mysterious message on social media, suggesting that the Asia Cup rejection had left him feeling depressed.

He said on Instagram that no matter how much your eyes adapt to darkness, you will never mistake it for light.

The IPL 2023 Kohli vs. Haq incident

During an IPL 2023 match between the Lucknow Super Giants and Royal Challengers Bangalore at Lucknow’s Ekana Stadium, Virat Kohli and Naveen ul Haq got into a verbal altercation. Even after the game was over, there was more drama when LSG coach Gautam Gambhir intervened and argued with Kohli. All three of them received hefty penalties as a result of the event.

Afghanistan’s team for the 2023 Asia Cup:

The Afghans made adjustments to the lineup from the just-completed ODI series against Pakistan. During the series against Pakistan, Azmatullah Omarzai suffered a side strain, which will prevent him from competing in the 2023 Asia Cup. Wafadar Momand and Shahidullah Kamal will also be absent from Afghanistan’s roster for the much awaited competition.

With players like Rashid Khan, Mohammed Nabi, Noor Ahmed, and Mujeeb ur Rahman, the squad has a potent spin assault. On the other side, Fazalhaq Farooqi, the previous captain Gulbadin Naib, Janat, Abdul Rahman, and Mohammad Saleem will be at the front of the line of pacers.
