France and Belgium secure Germany’s place in the Euro 2024 tournament with victories against The Netherlands and Austria

France and Portugal have both qualified for the 2019 European Championship with a spotless record thanks to goals scored by Kylian Mbappé and Cristiano Ronaldo, respectively. On Friday, Belgium also secured their seat in the tournament, which will take place in Germany.

The three European powerhouses, each of which required a win to qualify for the tournament, each had a great striker who ensured that they would get the victory they needed.

The two goals scored by Mbappé, the second of which was a shot from a distance, were vital in France’s 2-1 victory against the Netherlands in Amsterdam, which gave them a perfect record of six wins in a row in Group B.

Mbappé scored the first goal of the game in only the seventh minute when he beat Lutsharel Geertruida to a cross from the right by Jonathan Clauss and then volleyed the ball past Brighton goalkeeper Bert Verbruggen, who was making his debut for the Netherlands at the time.

Mbappé scored his 41st goal for his country, tying him with the all-time leader in goals for France, Michel Platini.

Mbappé extended the advantage to 2-0 in the 53rd minute when, on the outside of the Netherlands’ penalty area, he passed the ball back and forth with Adrien Rabiot before curling a shot over the head of Verbruggen.

After making his debut for the Netherlands national team, Feyenoord midfielder Quilindschy Hartman scored the game-tying goal with ten minutes remaining. It was the first goal that France had allowed to be scored against them in the competition.

After Giakoumakis and Giorgos Masouras both scored a goal in Greece’s 2-0 victory against Ireland in Dublin, the Hellenic nation climbed one spot to second position and earned 12 points overall.

The Netherlands are still in third place with nine points and have a game remaining.

The top two teams in each group automatically advance to the next round.

Bosnia moved up to fourth place with a 2-0 victory in meaningless Lichtenstein, while Iceland is another two points behind.

3-1 for Belgium vs Austria

Romelu Lukaku scored once again, while Dodi Lukebakio added two more goals for Belgium, who prevailed in a match against Austria in Vienna by a score of 3-2 despite playing with 10 men in order to progress from Group F.

After receiving a pinpoint ball from Jérémy Doku in the 58th minute, Lukaku proceeded to past the goalie Alexander Schlager to make it 3-0. This occurred only three minutes after Lukebakio scored his second goal.

Lukaku is now in first place in the qualification scoring standings with nine goals after six games, bringing his total number of goals scored for Belgium to 79.

In the 12th minute, Lukebakio had a break down the right side of the field before scoring inside the far post from a tight angle to give the Red Devils the lead. The attacker for Sevilla scored his first goal for his country in the international competition.

Lukebakio said, “I have been waiting for these goals for a considerable amount of time.” “I could not have envisioned a more fitting occasion for my first goals with Belgium,” he said.

In the 72nd minute, Konrad Laimer scored an equalizer for Austria, and then six minutes later, in the 76th minute, Belgium fell down to 10 men after midfielder Amadou Onana was sent off for a second booking. In the 84th minute, Marcel Sabitzer scored the second goal for Austria by converting a penalty kick, but the home team was unable to produce an equalizer.

After six games, Belgium has 16 points, while Austria is three points adrift and has suffered its first defeat of the qualifying round.

Sweden, who did not have a game on Friday, is now in third place with six points after five contests and still has a remote possibility of passing Austria.

Azerbaijan recorded its first win of the tournament with a 2-0 victory away against Estonia in the other game in the group to move to four points. There is one advantage to Estonia.
