Hardik Pandya, the captain of the Mumbai Indians, was punished for the Punjab Kings’ sluggish overrate

In the Indian Premier League, Mumbai Indians captain Hardik Pandya has been fined Rs 12 lakhs for his team’s poor overrate during their exciting nine-run win against the Punjab Kings.

Mumbai Indians defeated PBKS for 183 in 19.1 overs, despite Ashutosh Sharma’s incredible 28-ball 61 and Shashank Singh’s 41, owing to Suryakumar Yadav’s scorching 78 off 53 deliveries.

After their third victory in seven IPL 2024 games, MI moved up to seventh place from ninth on the points table, while PBKS fell to ninth after their fifth loss.

“Hardik Pandya, the Mumbai Indians captain, has been fined after his team maintained a slow over rate during their Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 match against Punjab Kings at the PCA New International Cricket Stadium, Mullanpur, on April 18,” said an IPL statement on Friday.

“As it was his team’s first offence of the season under the IPL’s Code of Conduct relating to minimum over rate offences, Pandya was fined Rs 12 lakhs,” said the statement.

On April 22, the Mumbai Indians will host the Rajasthan Royals in Jaipur.
