Incidents That Took Place Over Time That Led To Harmanpreet Kaur’s Two-Match Suspension

Following two violations of the International Cricket Council’s (ICC) Code of Conduct, India captain Harmanpreet Kaur will be forced to miss two international matches and will be penalised 75% of her match fee, the sport’s governing body said on Tuesday.

During the third game of the Women’s Championship series against Bangladesh in Dhaka last week, the 34-year-old demonstrated her annoyance at being dismissed by smashing the wickets with her bat. She also got three demerit points on her disciplinary record.

Cricket fans have both praised and criticized Harmanpreet after her expulsion. Following is a list of the events that led to her suspension:

Harmanpreet Smashing The Stumps, for example:

On Saturday, after being given out for being caught at slips by on-field umpire Tanvir Ahmed, the Indian captain showed her unhappiness by slamming her bat against the stumps and making a sign of protest to the umpire before walking away.

2. Attacking the umpires at the post-match presentation

Harmanpreet has no intention of forgetting what had transpired throughout the game. During the post-match presentation, she made a full-throated attack on the umpires. “I learned a lot from this game. We were shocked by the kind of umpiring there, even without considering the cricket. In order to cope with this kind of umpiring the next time we visit Bangladesh, Harmanpreet added, “we’ll have to be sure, and correspondingly, we’ll have to prepare ourselves.

3. Teasing Bangladeshi athletes during the award ceremony:

According to Bangladesh captain Nigar Sultana, Harmanpreet yelled “bring the umpires too” at the trophy-sharing ceremony’s picture opportunity, implying that they were also a member of the home team. Sultana was annoyed by this, so she gave the order to leave the picture shoot and go back into the dressing room.

There was no need for a formal hearing since Harmanpreet confessed the violations and agreed to the punishments suggested by Akhtar Ahmed of the ICC International Panel of Match Referees.
