IPL2024: Following his GT triumph, why did Rishabh Pant apologize to the cameraperson?

After the Delhi Capitals’ win against the Gujarat Titans on Wednesday (April 24), captain Rishabh Pant apologized to a cameraman at the Arun Jaitley Stadium.

In a pivotal IPL 2024 match, the Capitals defeated the Titans in a thriller. They got a much-needed win, which keeps them alive in the postseason race.

After batting first, Delhi Capitals scored 224 runs thanks to a masterful effort by skipper Rishabh Pant. In the game, the 26-year-old struck five fours and eight sixes while scoring 88 runs off only 43 balls.

In the last over, he absolutely destroyed Mohit Sharma, scoring thirty runs. Although the southpaw has been rather well this season, the blow against GT is his greatest performance to yet. In the last three balls of the DC innings, he blasted three sixes, giving Mohit Sharma the worst bowling statistic in IPL history. Pant also struck a cameraman during his batting blitzkrieg after one of his sixes struck the IPL broadcasting equipment.

Following the game, Rishabh Pant to the field to offer an apology to the cameraman. The person’s location was indicated by DC coach Ricky Ponting, and Pant had a message for the cameraman, Debasish.

“Sorry Debasish bhai, didn’t intend to hit you but I think you can recover well and Good Luck,” stated Pant.

For DC, who needed a win to maintain their prospects of making the playoffs, it was a fantastic triumph. They won by barely four runs, scoring 97 runs in the last five overs. DC’s victory saw them climb to sixth place in the standings.
