KL Rahul, the captain of LSG, gives an important update on Mayank Yadav’s injury: “All we have to do is pull him back.”

The much-needed update on Mayank Yadav’s injury was given by Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) captain KL Rahul, who said that the youthful wonder may have to miss a few more games before returning to action.

Notably, during the LSG vs. GT match, Mayank Yadav had to leave the pitch after bowling only one over because of lower abdomen pain. The team’s CEO then said that the speedster was taking care of his pain and would get regulated workload management to expedite his recuperation. Cricket fans have praised Mayank Yadav for his incredible speed, at which he frequently reaches 150 kmph, as well as his accuracy in line and length bowling.

“Mayank is doing well; he seems and feels fine, but we also want to be careful not to bring him back too soon. We must safeguard his body since he is young. In a post-match presentation, Rahul said, “He’s itching to go. We just have to pull him back a little, maybe a couple more games, before he comes back.”

The Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) failed to defend a target of more than 160 on their home ground in the IPL for the first time, as the Delhi Capitals created history with a six-wicket victory.

Rahul bemoaned the fact that his team was “15–20 runs short” of putting up a respectable total and gave gratitude to Jake Fraser-McGurk and Kuldeep Yadav for swinging the game in his side’s favour.

Debutante Jake Fraser-McGurk, who masterminded DC’s brilliant pursuit, utterly amazed LSG. McGurk, who last year hit the fastest century in the history of professional cricket, opened the IPL with a six and finished with 55 off 35 balls to help the visiting team win. Rahul complimented the young Australian and said LSG was taken off guard by the element of surprise he carried with him.

“To be fair, I believe we were 15–20 runs short despite having a strong start and the opportunity to capitalise and score 180. The odd ball was kept low, and the seamen received some assistance. Kuldeep used it, taking those wickets. We don’t really know anything about the new men when they come in. To his credit, Jake Fraser-McGurk struck the ball rather nicely. We enter with the same intention every time: to target the appropriate places. Warner was bowled out during the powerplay, and we took a few wickets thereafter,” he said.

The captain of Lucknow claimed that Fraser-McGruk’s catch drop at the cover on 24 in the 12th overthrew the LSG and won the match.

“After that mishandled catch, Pant and McGurk, the set hitters, stole the game from us. Tomorrow, on Sunday, we fly and attend a game in the afternoon. That’s the timetable; you have to show up; this may be difficult in the Indian heat. You may always look back and question whether you could have done things differently. After Axar’s over, there wasn’t much spin, so if Pooran had been set, I believe he could have applied some pressure to the opponent. Although he would have posed a threat, Rahul praised Kuldeep for removing him from the situation.

On Sunday, LSG will play Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) at Eden Gardens in an attempt to salvage their IPL season.
