Lionel Messi scores in his Inter Miami debut as IShowSpeed abandons ship

At the DRV PNK Stadium in Miami on Saturday, Lionel Messi made his Inter Miami debut in dramatic manner by scoring the game-winning goal for his new team after coming off the bench.

In the 44th minute of their League Cup match against Cruz Azul, Inter Miami took the lead thanks to a goal from Robert Taylor for the David Beckham-owned team. However, in the game’s 65th minute, Uriel Antuna for Azuk tied the score.

Messi, who came off the bench to enter the game in the second half to a loud ovation, scored the game-winning goal for Miami when he curled in a last-second free kick to the delight of the pink-clad crowd.

American YouTube star and personality IShowSpeed was one famous fan in attendance to watch the amazing first goal.

Deep in the game, the American said as Messi lined up to take the free kick, “If Messi scores this free kick, I’m a Messi fan, wallahi”!

The 18-year-old ripped off his Portugal shirt to expose a jersey with Messi’s name on the back after he scored on the extra-time set piece.

Darren Watkins Jr., better known on YouTube as IShowSpeed, has openly backed the Portuguese superstar and recently had the honor of meeting the 38-year-old owing to the assistance of his international colleague Rafael Leao.

But when Messi’s winning goal caused the net to swell, the American kid abruptly jumped ship, exposing the Messi jersey beneath his Ronaldo shirt.

When the Parisian team failed to reproduce their domestic success on the European stage, Messi’s relationship with the ultras of his former club PSG worsened, and he transferred to the American team.

The French team, which is controlled by Qatar, has won Ligue 1, but has struggled in the UEFA Champions League. The former Barcelona player was forced to bear the brunt of this until he made the decision to play in the North American football league.
