LPG Price Latest Update: On Wednesday, the government’s oil marketing corporations raised the rates of commercial LPG gas cylinders, marking a major change in the run-up to the 2024 Lok Sabha Elections. With effect from May 1, 2024, the price of 19 KG commercial LPG gas cylinders has been reduced by Rs 19 in accordance with the most recent price review. Starting on Wednesday, a 19kg commercial LPG cylinder in the national capital would cost Rs 1,745.50

It’s interesting to note that the country’s major cities have seen a price reduction on LPG cylinders in the aftermath of the current Lok Sabha Elections 2024.

LPG Cylinder Cost: Comparison to Last Month
As per the most recent adjustment to commercial LPG cylinder rates, the cost of a 19 kg cylinder in the national capital would now be Rs 1,745.50, while it was Rs 1,764.50 last month.

In addition to Delhi, Mumbai saw a 19% reduction in the price of LPG commercial cylinders; a 19 kg cylinder now costs Rs 1,698.50 in Mumbai as opposed to Rs 1,717.50 the previous month.

Prices of LPG Cylinders in Chennai, Delhi, Mumbai, and Kolkata
In Chennai, a commercial 19-kg cylinder will now set you back Rs 1,911, according to the most recent price hike. But in Kolkata, the cost of a commercial cylinder was reduced by Rs 20. As a result, the cost of a 19-kilogram LPG cylinder in Kolkata is currently Rs 1,859.

Metros in Delhi cost Rs 1,745.50, whereas in Mumbai they cost Rs 1,859 in Chennai and Rs 1,698.50 in Kolkata.
Why Was the Price of an LPG Cylinder Cut?
It should be mentioned that the decrease in global oil prices, which local fuel prices are benchmarked against, is the cause of the LPG cylinder price reduction.

However, the drop in oil prices might also be linked to growing US petroleum stockpiles and growing optimism about a Middle East cease-fire.
