Mustafizur Rahman Is Likely To Miss CSK vs. SRH, Chennai Super Kings’ IPL 2024 Comeback

Hyderabad: The news that star pacer Mustafizur Rahman would miss Friday’s match against Sunrisers Hyderabad is a severe blow to the Chennai Super Kings team. In order to get his US visa in time for the T20 World Cup 2024, which will take place in the Caribbean and the US starting in June, the bowler has already returned to Bangladesh. Given his concerning ball handling habits, Mustafizur will be missed by the CSK team.

“Mustafizur came from the IPL yesterday night in order to get a US visa for the next T20 World Cup. Tomorrow, on April 4, he will provide his fingerprints at the US consulate. After that, he will return to India to join Chennai, BCB cricket operation chairman Jalal Yunus told Cricbuzz on Wednesday.

Furthermore, he will only play in the IPL until the end of April once he returns. Should CSK advance to the playoffs, they may find themselves without his services. Prior to the national team’s five-match Twenty20 International series against Zimbabwe, which begins on May 3, Mustafizur will join the team.

“We anticipate his return from the IPL after his NOC for the tournament expires on April 30,” Yunus said.

In three IPL games in 2024, the Bangladeshi bowler claimed seven wickets in total, including a four-wicket haul against the Royal Challengers Bengaluru. Then, in CSK’s second match of the season against the Titans, he claimed two wickets. Nevertheless, he was costly in the match against his previous IPL team, the Capitals, giving up 47 runs in his four overs for a single wicket.
