“Virat Kohli Has Been a Terrible Influence,” says Faf du Plessis, describing the effect of his RCB teammate’s passion

In addition to giving cricket players from all over the world a platform to play as teammates, the IPL has also contributed to the development of strong friendships. It seems that batting great Virat Kohli and his Royal Challengers Bengaluru captain Faf du Plessis have a strong friendship, to the point that the Indian is now influencing the South African’s style preferences.

Prior to the Royal Challengers of Bengaluru’s next IPL 2024 match against Punjab Kings, Du Plessis has shared some details about his friendship with colleague Virat Kohli.

According to Du Plessis on Star Sports, “We both love food.” “We both have a strong interest in fashion. That’s something else we speak about extensively. the kind of clothing we wear and how we dress. We used to exchange photos of our clothing and other such items.

Nevertheless, the former captain of South Africa also attributes another “horrible influence” to Kohli.

“He’s got a real passion for watches, but he’s been a terrible influence on me,” the 39-year-old said.

In addition to sharing similar fashion tastes, the two get along well since they are close in age and have small kids.

“I have two girls, and he has one. He is now expecting his second child. Due to the comparable ages of our spouses and children, Du Plessis said, “We really connected at that front as well.”

Throughout the campaign, Du Plessis and Kohli have been leading the RCB batsmen in scoring.

Kohli leads the team in runs scored this season with 542, while Du Plessis has the second-most with 352 for the RCB.

With a scorching 92-run partnership in only 5.5 overs, the pair put up an incredible display against the Gujarat Titans, winning by four wickets.

They want to maintain their playoff ambitions by maintaining their current form going into their Thursday night matchup in Dharamsala against PBKS.
