Nitish Reddy keeps having faith in himself and helps Sunrisers Hyderabad win the IPL 2024 away for the first time

For many cricket players, being selected at an Indian Premier League (IPL) auction is their greatest ambition, but it doesn’t guarantee a spot in the playing XI or the chance to appear in the XI at any point throughout the season.

While it’s common to see teams vying for players at the auction, a guaranteed berth in the starting lineup is determined by the lineup that the think tank determines best fits the squad.

The finest talent is often forced to warm the bench for extended periods of time, which causes them to begin questioning themselves.

When a chance eventually presents itself, it is accompanied by relentless pressure and the dread of failing. To succeed and make full use of this unique chance, one must possess a strong sense of self-belief in the face of such difficult conditions.

When Sunrisers Hyderabad backed Nitish Kumar Reddy to bat at No. 4 against the Punjab Kings on Tuesday (April 9), he was one of the select few who shone brilliantly and made the world take note of his skill. Many players, however, fall short when chance knocks.

Nitish, unfazed by the enormity of the moment, had faith in himself and helped the Sunrisers defeat the Punjab Kings (PBKS) at the Maharaja Yadavindra Singh International Cricket Stadium in Mullanpur, Chandigarh, to record their first away victory of season 17.

After a fidgety start to SRH’s innings, Nitish, 20, weathered the storm and punished the PBKS spinners for their errors in line and length.

It’s a significant contribution for both my team and myself, in my opinion. I’ve been telling myself that I need to have self-confidence and that I need to show up for my team. I did not want to take on the seamers since they were bowling quite well. During the post-match presentation, Nitish said, “I wanted to attack them when the spinners came on, and that is what I did.”

The Andhra all-rounder was required to contribute with the ball in hand after making an impressive knock with the willow in hand, and he did not let us down either. The formidable Jitesh Sharma was starved of speed by the fast-bowling all-rounder, who eventually got him out with a masterful slower bouncer.

Jitesh tried to pump the ball into the stands but ended up mistiming it for a deep square leg and holed out. It proved to be a crucial dismissal, as it disrupted PBKS’s momentum and allowed SRH to regain the lead.

In addition to helping SRH win the thrilling match, Nitish’s valiant efforts earned him the Player of the Match (POTM) title. The young player will undoubtedly have chances since there are still a lot of games remaining in the season, and he seems more prepared than ever.

“I just want to keep playing well on the field, at bat, and with the ball for my team. Nitish said, “I simply want to be like this.
