Rashid Khan and David Miller are distraught as DC defeats them in the final-ball thriller. WATCH

After losing to the Delhi Capitals at their home on Wednesday in a thrilling last-ball match, all-rounder Rashid Khan and batter David Miller of the Gujarat Titans were devastated. Miller and Rashid both contributed significantly to Gujarat’s ability to survive in the pursuit of a formidable 225. Miller (55 off 23) and Sai Sudarshan (65 off 29) struck half-centuries in response.

Rashid was unable to hit the boundary with five runs needed off the last delivery, leaving Tristan Stubbs at long on jubilant as he collected the ball.
Following the last delivery, Rashid was seen receiving consolation from non-striker Mohit Sharma. View the video by clicking this link:

After the triumph against Gujarat, Delhi captain Rishabh Pant did grin, although sardonically, knowing that the match might have ended differently had Rashid struck. He scored an undefeated 88 runs off only 43 balls to win player of the match.
After Miller was out for 55 off only 23 deliveries, Rashid was the only thing between Delhi and victory. Rashid persisted in striking fours at the perfect moment, even though the needed run rate in the last two overs was over 18.
Rashid promised the Gujarat supporters that their team would not give up, even if he was upset that he was unable to knock a six off the last ball.

Pant led by example for Delhi, who were put to bat first. He finished unbeaten on 88 of 43 deliveries (5x4s, 8x6s). His innings served as a reminder to the national selectors, who may choose to include him in India’s starting XI against Pakistan in the World T20 match in New York.
As he timed his knock alongside Axar, who hit 66 off 43 deliveries after moving up to the third slot, Pant’s maturity was evident. There were four sixes and five boundaries throughout his knock.
