Rashid Khan and Noor Ahmad of the Gujarat Titans’ on-field friendship is worth seeing

In a recent Instagram post, Gujarat Titans emphasized the friendship between its two Afghan bowlers, Rashid Khan and Noor Ahmad. The team published a little video on the Meta platform that included some memorable Rashid and Noor moments from the 2023 Indian Premier League (IPL). The Afghan team is well known for their extraordinary bond both on and off the field. The video showed other bromance moments between the two, including training online and taking pictures at events. The caption of the Instagram image gave the Afghan bowlers the nicknames “Bade Miya and Chhote Miya,” which were taken from the 1998 Amitabh Bachchan and Govinda film of the same name.

For IPL supporters, Rashid may already be a household name. However, Noor Ahmad has just been well-known as a result of a strong 2023 season. During the tournament, the 18-year-old played for Gujarat Titans in 8 games and claimed 16 total wickets.

Noor attracted notice in his IPL debut matchup vs the Rajasthan Royals. In the at-home game, he entered as an impact player and went on to take the crucial wicket of Rajasthan captain Sanju Samson. The teenage left-arm spinner may catch Samson at long-off after being hit for a four and a six in back-to-back deliveries. Since then time, Noor has been a dependable member of the Gujarat playing eleven.

Aashish Kapoor, the Gujarat Titans’ assistant coach, was the one who added Noor Ahmad to the squad. The Hindu said that Aashish specifically asked Gujarat bowling coach Ashish Nehra to sign Noor from the blockbuster auction in 2022.

“Noor reminded me of Rashid Khan, who was left-handed. He can create a lethal combo with Rashid, according to Aashish, who was reported by The Hindu. When Noor first came to the Gujarat camp, Rashid’s bowling motion was quite similar to his. However, his coaches urged him to create a fresh style of play.

Rashid participated in 17 games in the 2023 IPL. The 24-year-old leg-spinner was similarly outstanding with the bat in addition to taking 27 wickets. He amassed 130 runs overall at an astounding strike rate of 216.67.
