Sumit gives SGGS Club four points

At the current Chandigarh State Hockey Championships at the Sector 42 Sports Complex, Sri Guru Gobind Singh (SGGS) College Club defeated Chandigarh Hockey Academy, Sector 42, 10-3 thanks to four goals by Sumit.

Sumit (ranked 29th, 31st, 38th, and 47th) contributed significantly, scoring a hat-trick to help the winning team. The team also had goals from Navjot (3rd, 17th), Kudratpreet (51st, 53rd), Charanjit (8th), and Deepak (48th). In the meantime, Sector 42 scored three goals off the sticks of Rajveer (20th), Sukhman (25th), and Kudrat (11th).

In the other game, Punjab University Club was beaten 6-4 by Rock Rovers Hockey Club. Two goals from Sahil (8th and 15th) placed the Rock Rovers ahead, however goals from Neeraj (17th) and Surah (24th) tied the score for the university club. Gurshazad (45th) again negated Misbah’s (40th) attempt to convert a penalty corner for the Rock Rovers Club.

In the 48th and 49th minutes, Sahil proved to be the team’s savior once again, and in the 54th minute, Price added the game-winning goal. In the fiftyth minute, Gurshazad scored his second goal for the university side. IPBP won 7-3 over 3BRD Air Force.

In the women’s division, SGGSH Club (Blue) and SGGSH (Red) drew 2-2, while Chandigarh Hockey Academy beat Panjab University Club 2-0.
