Team Bathinda defeats Jalandhar and advances to the final

The Bathinda squad defeated the Jalandhar team by one goal to go to the Punjab State Hockey Championship 2024 junior category (boys) final after a fierce contest. The junior girls division was the focus of the events. On Saturday, the junior division finals will take place. On Saturday, the senior (under 25) category events will get underway.

After a fierce fight, Jalandhar beat Patiala by a score of 3-2 in the junior boys’ quarterfinal matches. After a close game, Shaheed Bhagat Singh Nagar beat Gurdaspur 3-2. Amritsar was crushed 7-0 by Tarn Taran. By a 7-2 score, Bathinda defeated Ludhiana to go to the semifinals.

In the earlier junior girls’ matches, Bathinda beat Ludhiana 11-0, Muktsar defeated Hoshiarpur 6-1, Tarn Taran defeated Mansa 8-0, and Muktsar defeated Bathinda 8-0.

Olympian Rajinder Singh Senior, Ashfaqullah Khan, sports promoter Surinder Singh Bhapa, Dr. Navjot, Principal, Lyallpur Khalsa College for Women, Jalandhar, and Dr. Shilpi Jaitley, Principal, DAV Institute of Physiotherapy and Rehabilitation, Jalandhar were the main guests during today’s contests. Among those in attendance on the event were Harinder Singh Sangha, Gurinder Singh Sangha, and Kulbir Singh Saini.
