Virat Kohli’s unmatched work ethic: Neeraj Kumar, the former BCCI anti-corruption head

During his time with the influential cricket body, superstar Virat Kohli’s work ethic was deemed “unmatched” by former BCCI anti-corruption section leader Neeraj Kumar.

From 2015 to 2018, the former Delhi chief police officer was employed by the BCCI. He had to constantly deal with the cricketers as part of his work in the BCCI ACU, and he found that most of them were kind and accessible.

Oh, how many they there? One ought to be really proud of them. They were all really respectful of me. However, Bhuvneshwar Kumar and Ajinkya Rahane—two exceptional individuals and genuine gentlemen—are not mentioned very often. Kumar made this statement in an exclusive interview with PTI journalists at the organization’s headquarters in this city.

The unmatched dedication that Kohli has to the game was evident in Kumar’s performance as well.

“Virat Kohli has the unmatched work ethic in cricket. He remarked, “His approach to training was excellent.

He said, “Yes, a few of them are fond of using foul language (in Hindi), but I found out this is how they speak,” in response to the question of whether the cricket players had used profanity. But unlike BCCI members, they all treated me with such respect. Thus, there are many things to be grateful for,” the 70-year-old added.

Kumar, a renowned 37-year IPS veteran, oversaw the Delhi Police Special Cell when it detained former Indian cricket player S Sreesanth and fellow Rajasthan Royals players Ajit Chandila and Ankit Chavan on suspicion of spot-fixing.

He was a member of the CBI’s investigation team and was also connected to the Hansie Cronje match-fixing affair in 2000.
