WWE Raw Talking Points: Chad Gable ruins Sami Zayn’s special night, and Rhea Ripley vacates the women’s world championship

With WrestleMania 40 now officially behind us, WWE stars are turning their attention to WWE Backlash, the first high-profile event of the year that will take place in France, and leaving the biggest stage of them all in the rearview mirror. Monday Night Raw’s April 16 program included title changes, surprising heel turns, and other surprises. These are the main issues of discussion for tonight’s program.

The Title Reign of Rhea Ripley Is Ended!
As she revealed that she had seriously hurt herself during Liv Morgan’s attack on Monday Night Raw last week, The Eradicator gave a somber start to the evening. She will have to withdraw from the Women’s World Championship since her injuries will prevent her from working with the firm for an extended length of time. The two superstars had to be dragged apart, and out stepped Liv Morgan to add salt to the newly opened wounds of her former tag team colleagues.

Regretfully, this signals the end of one of the most powerful reigns the women’s division has ever saw. Leading contenders Liv Morgan and Nia Jax have the best chance of winning the newly available position.

The New World Tag Team Champions Are The Amazing Truth.
Before extending an invitation to the newly crowned Raw Tag Team champions, HHH makes his way outside for the segment. He continues by declaring that The Miz & R-Truth are now the New World Tag Team Champions, not the Raw Tag Team Champions. A humorous scene with a perplexed R-Truth calling HHH, Tommaso Ciampa, ensued after this.

After defeating The New Day & The Creed Brothers in a triple threat tag match, DIY advanced to the top of the contender rankings for the World Tag Team championships.

Rhodes, Cody Regards, Seth Rollins
The American Nightmare began his segment tonight by announcing that he would continue to make appearances despite no longer being a member of the RAW Roster. He continued by praising his “Shield,” Seth Rollins, for his valiant efforts on WrestleMania XL’s second night, and he addressed The Rock’s recent remarks on social media. The Rock may be able to make Cody bleed, but Cody swears he’ll make The Rock bleed too. Before criticizing Jey Uso for his bout, he also discussed his impending championship fight at Backlash against the victor of LA Knight and AJ Styles.

Will Jey Uso triumph in his first solo match?
Cody Rhodes and Jey Uso engaged in a heartfelt conversation during which Cody promised to support Jey in tonight’s match against Finn Balor since The Judgement Day often takes advantage of the number’s game. Cody tried to assist Jey, but he told him he had to do this on his own. In order to seal the win, Jey used a spear to block the Coup De Grace and then executed the Uso splash from the top rope.

Uso’s jubilation was cut short on Judgement Day when all of the members—aside from Damian Priest—went on to administer retribution. Jey Uso emerged victorious from the main event, weaving through the audience.

Chad Gable Loses the Intercontinental Championship to Sami Zayn Heel turns
The former Olympic wrestler Chad Gable lost against Sami Zayn, but his quest for his first championship was not over. The bout took place in Quebec, the hometown of Sami Zayn, and may be considered a legendary contest. Sami won by using the Helluva Kick to break out from the Ankle Lock. At the conclusion, there was an emotional Enraged, Chad Gable stormed out of the ring only to turn heel and come back to assault an overjoyed Sami Zayn in front of his hometown and wife.
