Yuvraj, Rajiv Shukla, and Others Congratulate You: “You’ll Play Impactful Role in Shaping Future of IND Cricket” Agarkar

Ajit Agarkar, a former fast bowler for India, was appointed as the senior men’s national selection committee’s head on Tuesday. Sulakshana Naik, Ashok Malhotra, and Jatin Paranjape, who make up the BCCI’s Cricket Advisory Committee (CAC), unanimously chose Agarkar and recommended him for the position of Chairperson of the men’s selection committee.

Agarkar joined the men’s selection committee for India as the fifth member, joining Shiv Sunder Das, Salil Ankola, Subroto Banerjee, and S Sharath. Since Chetan Sharma left his position as head selector in February as a result of a sting operation carried out on him by an Indian television network, the position has been vacant. The cricket community, meanwhile, congratulated the former fast on social media. Rajiv Shukla, vice president of the BCCI, praised Agarkar and expressed the hope that under his leadership, Indian cricket will reach its zenith.

“Ajit Agarkar has been named the new head of the senior selection committee. His extensive knowledge and calm demeanor will help Indian cricket reach its peak. Many thanks to the BCCI secretary and the cricket advisory council for making the choice. Shukla tweeted, “@JayShah @imAagarkar @BCCI.

Yuvraj Singh, a former all-rounder for India, too sent his colleague his congratulations on the selection of his teammate as the head selector.

“Congratulations @imAagarkar on your new role as the selection committee’s chairman! I have no doubt that you will have a significant influence on how Indian cricket develops in the future. I wish you success,” Yuvraj tweeted.

Agarkar is anticipated to get income that is more than the present salary of Rs 1 crore set aside for the chairman of selectors, according to PTI.

According to information obtained, the BCCI wishes to complete the formalities associated with the appointment of Agarka before having him preside over the meeting of the selection committee for the T20I squad for the 5-match series against the West Indies.

“Agarkar was the only applicant to show up for the interview. It was virtual since he is away with his family at the moment, a BCCI source told PTI.

According to the article, there aren’t any well-known figures from the North Zone who are powerful enough to assume the coveted position. Because of this, BCCI will depart from its long-standing practice of selecting one selector from each of the five zones.
