40 People Hurt in Bus Crash in Mathura, Uttar Pradesh; 5 Serious

In a horrifying occurrence, two buses in Mathura, Uttar Pradesh, crashed in the fog on Monday, injuring at least 40 people, according to the police.

The collision happened around three in the morning as both buses were traveling from Agra to Noida, Senior Superintendent of Police Shailesh Kumar Pandey said PTI.

Fog-related low visibility is alleged to have played a role in the tragedy.

Five of the wounded passengers are reportedly in critical condition, according to early reports. The injured were transferred to district and private hospitals almost away.

Twenty of the wounded were released after first aid, according to a top government physician, while the other patients are still receiving care.

This occurs one day after at least five people lost their lives in various truck and two-wheeler-related traffic incidents in different Madhya Pradesh districts on Sunday. According to authorities, there were two fatalities in the district of Umaria and one each in Khandwa, Betul, and Anuppur.

Two tribal males, ages 22 and 25, were murdered in the Umaria district after a truck struck their bike close to Gurwahi village, according to Sharad Khamparia, the in-charge of the Manpur police station.

He added the truck driver left the area with the vehicle and a search is underway to find him while in Khandwa, a food delivery guy was murdered after a speeding truck slammed into his two-wheeler, said Kotwali Police Station in-charge BL Rathore.

According to Sub Divisional Officer of Police (SDOP) Roshan Jain, a forty-year-old father was murdered and his two daughters, along with a nephew, were wounded in Betul district after the two-wheeler they were riding on was struck by a speeding vehicle near Rajiv Chowk on a state highway in Sarni town.
