Adityanath honors the slain soldier during the incident in Rajouri

On Thursday, Yogi Adityanath, the chief minister of Uttar Pradesh, paid respect to Captain Shubham Gupta, who was killed along with three other members of the army during a confrontation with terrorists in the Rajouri area of Jammu and Kashmir.

At the clash between security forces and terrorists in Rajouri on Wednesday, two captains and four other Army troops were killed while two more were wounded, according to authorities.

“The Uttar Pradesh government is with the bereaved family members of the martyred captain at this hour of grief,” Adityanath said while expressing his condolences to the bereaved family of Agra resident Captain Gupta.

The most recent confrontation in Rajouri occurs just after another firefight on November 17 in the Behrote neighborhood of Budhal, where one terrorist was killed.

Ten troops had been killed in two previous ambushes in the Mendhar region of Poonch and the Kandi forest of Rajouri on April 20 and May 5, respectively.

Since January of this year, 46 fatalities have been reported in instances connected to terrorism in the twin border districts of Poonch and Rajouri, as well as the neighboring district of Reasi, according to authorities.

In Poonch district, there have been 15 terrorist deaths and five security officers slain, while 23 people—seven terrorists and nine security personnel—were murdered in Rajouri. In the Reasi district, three terrorists were slain.
