After killing his wife, a Gurugram man takes the metro to Ghaziabad before committing himself

The 30-year-old man from Gurugram traveled by Delhi Metro to Ghaziabad, Uttar Pradesh, hours after he is suspected of killing his wife. On Monday, January 1, he committed suicide by leaping from the elevated Kaushambi Metro station. The guy was said to have killed Laxmi Rawat, his wife, inside their DLF Phase III apartment. After murdering his wife, the guy locked up the apartment and fled, leaving his two-year-old boy sobbing beside his mother’s corpse.

According to police sources cited by news agency PTI, the guy, named as Gaurav Sharma, was residing in a leased property in the S Block of DLF Phase 3 neighborhood of Gurugram. About six months ago, the guy and his spouse moved to their present home from Agra, Uttar Pradesh.

Early on Monday morning, the Gurgaon Police were notified that a kid had been heard sobbing inside a home in DLF phase 3. When the police arrived, the home, which was on the first floor of a building, was locked. According to the police, when they broke down the door, they saw the lady sobbing and sitting next to her corpse in a pool of blood.

The youngster was saved right away, and they took him to the government hospital. The little child suffered serious injuries.

After looking through the CCTV footage, the police discovered that on Monday morning, the accused took the metro to Ghaziabad after murdering his wife. Then, off the railing of a platform at Kaushambi Metro station, he was spotted plunging into the road.

The overwhelming weight of circumstantial evidence points to Gaurav Sharma killing his wife Laxmi before taking his own life. We have reported him for murder with the PTI, citing Inspector Dinkar, the SHO of the DLF Phase-3 police station.

The police have opened an inquiry into the death and sent the corpse for a post-mortem.
