AIMPLB Delegation Meets Akhilesh Yadav Regarding UCC in U.P

In a meeting with Samajwadi Party leader Akhilesh Yadav on Sunday, a delegation from the All India Muslim Personal Law Board (AIMPLB) raised the subject of the Uniform Civil Code (UCC), claiming it is an effort to “snatch fundamental rights of minorities and tribals.”

The group, which was made up of notable clerics like as Maulana Bilal Hasan Nadvi and AIMPLB members Khalid Rashid Farangi Mahali, sent a memorandum to Yadav protesting the Center’s plan to adopt the UCC across the nation.

The leader of the SP assured the delegation of the backing of his party.

Yadav reportedly said, “For the BJP, religion and religious work is only a way to do politics,” according to party chief spokesman Rajendra Chowdhury. The BJP manipulates public opinion and trust. The SP is firmly devoted to secularism and democracy.

The country’s Constitution protects cultural identity and religious freedom, according to AIMPLB’s letter. Every person of the nation was granted the freedom to practice, follow, and spread his or her religion. As a result, everyone is free to practice their faith in family concerns and minorities’ and indigenous peoples’ personal laws are given particular protection.

The memorandum claimed that the federal and state governments often attempted to curtail religious and cultural freedom and impose one specific religion and culture on everyone.

“Merging other religious groups into the culture of the majority is one of their obvious goals. The Constitution’s core rights have been violated by several legislation in recent years, it was said.

The memorandum said that this action (bringing UCC) would be opposed and underlined that the UCC is an unacceptable effort to “snatch fundamental rights of minorities and tribals”.

“We reject UCC as a whole. It is basically a wicked effort to obliterate the identity of any region of the nation to impose it on without their agreement, it claimed.

Governments are mandated by the constitution to preserve the houses of worship and sacred sites of all religions. Any effort by one community to seize or compel another community’s place of worship is unacceptable. Every such effort will be met with a united front, the document stated.

Additionally, it urged “government and private persons” to stop encroaching on Waqf property and said that, if necessary, an agitation may be started to stop it.

“We will work to ensure that each of the nation’s social and religious groups contributes to the country’s growth in a coordinated manner. The memorandum continued, “We shall all work to bring about peace, security, and justice in the nation and put an end to injustice and horrors.
