‘Expired Medicines’ Found in the Health Center in Firozabad, Uttar Pradesh, by an IAS Officer Posing As a Patient

Police officers carrying out sting operations to apprehend offenders are something we have seen often. An IAS official recently carried out a covert operation at a medical facility in Firozabad, Uttar Pradesh, by disguising herself as a patient. IAS official Krati Raj arrived at the health center on Tuesday, her face concealed by a veil. Without using overt security, the officer socialized with other patients.

After receiving several complaints from the community, Firozabad SDM (Sadar) Krati Raj took action and discovered a number of irregularities at the Dida Mai health center. The officer discovered that the pharmacy had expired medications, and that patients had not received their injections correctly.

Krati Raj, an IAS officer from the 2021 batch, conversed with the doctor while pretending to be a patient and thought his behavior was improper. The healthcare facility was dirty and lacked proper hygiene, even though the workers were shown as present.

“I got a complaint against the Dida Mai Health Center stating that the doctor was not available to provide the dog bite shot, even after 10 a.m. The doctor’s actions were inappropriate; I went there covertly and anonymously, and the Sub-Divisional Magistrate informed ANI.

The IAS officer was shown executing a raid and removing expired medications from the health center’s pharmacy in a video that was released by the news agency.

“Half the medicines were expired, and cleanliness was not maintained,” Krati Raj said. “Work was not being done in the spirit of public service,” she said. These concerns have been recorded, and an investigation is underway.

People on social media responded to the video quickly. “Exit the air conditioning cabin. Excellent assistance, a user said. Another said, “Good job,” complimenting the cop.

Chief Medical Officer Dr. Rambadan Ram, meanwhile, denied rumors that patients were receiving outdated medications. I carried out an examination on Wednesday at 12:05 p.m. Painting and cleaning were underway. According to the CMO, no significant flaws were discovered at the health center, as noted by the SDM, as reported by Hindustan Times.

He continued by saying that patients were not receiving any medications that had expired. Dr. Rambadan Ram went on to say, “The medicines with expiry dates in March and April 2024 were kept separately and were not being used,” claiming that the SDM discovered “the wrong box of medicines with expiry dates.” They were noted in the discharge registry and were scheduled for disposal.
