UP’s tap water connection status
According to media sources, the state’s third-quarter goal of providing 10,73,166 connections was met in 125% of cases.

In April 2020, Uttar Pradesh ranked thirteenth in the nation for the provision of water connections, according to the government. When it secured the third spot in April 2023, it solidified its standing. Additionally, the state leads the nation in November 2023 in terms of quickly connecting homes to the internet.

Kanpur, Sant Ravidas Nagar, and Moradabad secured the top three spots in the high achievers’ category, according to the facts and figures that were provided at the conference, suggesting that Uttar Pradesh had won the competition handily.

Up until November 17, “U.P. is leading the nation in providing more than 50% of tap water connections,” they said.

According to the authorities, ₹53,752 crore has been allocated for the program so far. By March 31, 2024, 179.70 lakh homes are expected to be connected to the Har Ghar Jal. The chief secretary applauded the accomplishment but emphasized the need to keep up the pace going forward.
