Government Releases 350 Cr For Delhi-Ghaziabad-Meerut RRTS Project in Uttar Pradesh

The Uttar Pradesh government has allotted 350 crore to quicken the building of the Regional Rapid Transit System (RRTS) project.The significant project’s goal is to increase connection between Delhi and the state’s largest cities.

The government’s official announcement reads, “The grant of 350 crore will revitalize and speed the project’s outstanding duties. Particularly, the project-affected districts in Ghaziabad and Meerut would see tremendous growth, the statement noted.

The Delhi-Meerut RRTS project in its entirety
Delhi, Ghaziabad, and Meerut are connected by the Regional Rapid Transit System (RRTS), a semi-high-speed rail line. By the time it is finished in 2025, the project will be the first rapid transit project of its sort in India.

The sum allotted is a portion of the overall funding for the Delhi-Ghaziabad-Meerut High Speed Rail Project for the fiscal years 2023–2024.

On March 8, 2019, Prime Minister Narendra Modi unveiled the 82.15 kilometer train project.

The MD, NCRTC, has been tasked with providing the project a clear direction. The Uttar Pradesh government will regularly examine the status of the project’s operations while it is being carried out by the NCRTC in accordance with the requirements of the Indian government.

This is stated in the regulations and guidelines the Uttar Pradesh government set for the state’s participation in the project. The statement said that the approved state share money will not be taken out entirely at once but rather utilized as needed.
