Israel hiring team searching for UP laborers

LUCKNOW: The Uttar Pradesh government launched a one-week recruitment campaign at the Industrial Training Institute (ITI), Aliganj, on Tuesday in response to the Center’s request for personnel needs in Israel.

The Israeli team will evaluate about 4,600 applicants over the course of seven days for positions like shuttering carpenter, mason, tiler, and bar bender. The chosen candidates would get a monthly salary of Rs 1.37 lakh in addition to housing, food, and medical insurance.
Anil Rajbhar, the minister of labor, stressed that Israel needed trained workers for major building projects and added, “This is a huge opportunity as Israel and India are both exploring ways to improve condition of workers in Israel.” They will have access to low-interest loans if needed.
According to Kunal Silku, director of training and employment, NSDC International, an organization under the Union ministry of skill development and entrepreneurship from India and population, immigration and border authority (PIBA), Israel, is in charge of hiring construction workers in Israel. Following the commencement of the 108th day of the Israel-Hamas war on Tuesday, Israel’s construction sector is seeking workers from India and other nations to cover open positions.
On Tuesday, 629 workers from Agra, Kanpur, and Lucknow who were chosen by PIBA had their abilities tested. Subsequently, on January 24, 585 workers from the divisions of Azamgarh and Banda; on January 25, 563 workers from the divisions of Bareilly, Jhansi, Noida, Moradabad, and Devipatan; on January 27, 656 workers from the divisions of Varanasi, Mirzapur, Meerut, and Ghaziabad; on January 28, 877 workers from the division of Gorakhpur; on January 29, 739 workers from the divisions of Ayodhya and Saharanpur; and on January 30, 603 workers from the divisions of Aligarh, Basti, and Prayagraj.

The police in Coimbatore are going to exhume the partly buried corpse of construction worker Ashok Kumar.
